※ Nakhwaam

Rocky cliffs, nestled south of Mt. Buso Fortress of Baengma River in Buyeo is called Nakhwaam. It is where the court ladies of Baekje, during the reign of King Uija (641-660) leapt to their deaths into the deep river, covering themselves with fluttering robes, choosing death over capture by the invading forces when Baekje was defeated by the Shilla-Tang Alliance which laid siege to the royal capital.

※ Jeongnimsaji Museum

Jeongnimsaji Museum has been established to revisit Baekje Buddhism culture and to inspire appropriate history perception underthe subject of Jeongnimsa which was the center of Baekje Sabi-era Buddhism. The structure of the museum is in the Buddhist symbolic “卍” shape, consisting of a main hall in the center, entry route, exhibition hall, management office etc., interconnecting in a spread wing shape.

The artifacts Buyeo National Museum holds now are up to 15,000 relics in relation to History and Art of Chungnam Region and 1,000 pieces are on display. Buyeo National Museum located in Buyeo, the ancient capital of the Sabi era (538~660) that flourished the fascinating culture of Baekje, is a professional Baekje museum playing a pivotal role in the research, study and preservation of Baekje culture.

※ Seodongyo Theme Park

Seodongyo Theme Park was a set of the drama “Seodongyo” which is now opened to the public as a theme park, offering diverse experience programs. Seodongyo Theme Park located near Gahwa reservoir, Gahwa-ri, Chunghwa-myeon, was created for the filming of “Seodongyo’, an SBS Saga Drama, celebrating its 15th anniversary. Being the First History Drama of Baekje, it was in the limelight since its initial production and its reenactment and scale was as impressive as the level of attention it received.

※ Mt. Mansu Natural Forest

Mt. Mansu Natural Forest, which was opened in 1992, is a convenient relaxation facility in a native forest. The forest, seated at the end of the Mt. Cha-ryung and 575m above the sea of Mt. Mansu, tastefully forms a lotus flower-like eight valleys. In a picturesque view where old pine trees and other natural tress are blended divinely, live all kinds of birds and beasts.

※ Gungnamji

A pond in a secondary palace from the Baekje era is nestled south of Buyeo-eup. It is estimated that it was constructed in King Mu’s reign and on the basis of records in Samguksagi (a historical book of the Three Kingdoms) that “the pond was dug in the south of the palace”, it has been named Gungnamji.

Gobun-gun is located on the mid-slope to the south of Mt. Neungsanri, rising 121m above sea level. The place where Gobun-gun is located has the typical geographic features of tombs designated through Feng-shui.

※ Songguk-ri Prehistoric Dwelling Site

It is estimated that the Songguk-ri dwelling site was formed by people farming and hunting around 7-6 BC on the basis of excavated relics. Songgok-ri habitations are valued as an important historic data as it deploys the lifestyle of people from the Bronze Age and is attracting children and students as a vivid history learning center. It has crucial relics for studying lifestyle including the origin of rice farming and its diffusion path in Korea

※ Gilt-Bronzze Incense Burner of Baekje

This artifact was excavated in Dec. 1993 at the temple site in Tombs Park at Neungsan-ri. It is a large incense burner 61.8 cm in height and 19 cm in width, consisting of four parts, the body, the lid, the knob and the support plate. It is a world-class cultural asset implying ample spirit and the world of art of the Baekje people, which are Buddhism and Taoism, yin yang beliefs, casting techniques of metal craft etc.

This monument was built to pass on to generations to come, patriotic loyalty as in the historical and cultural value of General Gyebaek and 5,000 soldiers and the mainstreaming of loyalty education.
